Oakland, CA may close 13 of its 17 libraries. The 4 that would remain open are in affluent neighborhoods (they include Rockridge and Dimond). Among those that would close include the African American Museum and Library, Asian, Chavez, and West Oakland. (As well as both libraries in my neighborhood, Temescal and Piedmont.)
